The AMC AMX debuted on Feb. 24, 1968, as a mid 1968 model. It was the first
steel-bodied, two seat American production model since the 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
American Motors created the AMX (American Motors Experimental) by slicing a
foot out of its Javelin body, eliminating the rear seat, and making it a true
two seat sports car.

The AMX's full second model year saw only slight changes. The five spoke Magnum 500 steel
road wheels were no longer chrome plated, but now came with a stainless steel trim ring.
The interior featured a revised instrumentation with the tachometer moved to match the
speedometer that was now calibrated to 140 mph (225 km/h). Interior door panels were revised
and leather upholstery was optional. Later production cars received a hood over the instruments
in front of the driver.

This 1969 AMC AMX comes equipped with a 390 cid V8 rated at 315 bhp.
The transmission is the optional center console mounted three-speed automatic.
The exterior is Dark Blue with the optional White Over-the-top racing stripes.
The interior is black with new charcoal seat covers and seat foam. This is a solid
running example in great condition, complete brake job just performed as well as some
suspension work. This car drives great. An extremely clean and solid car
throughout. A great addition to any collection.
